Evelyn Yeryung Kim
(19, Korea)
My name is Evelyn Yeryung Kim. I am a Fine Art major whose practice centers on creating a sense of infinite depth and space on a flat canvas. Through my work, I explore how two-dimensional surfaces can evoke boundless spatial experiences.
I work with a wide range of materials, including traditional Korean hanji paper, oil paint, and acrylics, continuously researching diverse methods of constructing space through materiality and technique. Each medium offers a distinct way of expanding visual and conceptual depth, allowing me to experiment with the relationship between surface and space.
Within these infinite spaces, I embed narratives that reflect my own interpretation of human nature. My paintings function as visual stories, where space becomes a psychological and emotional landscape through which the essence of humanity is examined.
